Bipartisan coalition unveils 2015-16 mental health bill package

SACRAMENTO, CA – A bipartisan group of legislators, led by Senate Mental Health Caucus Chair Jim Beall and Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Mental & Behavioral Health, Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas, announced today a package of legislation moving forward this year dedicated to improving the lives of Californians suffering from mental illness.

Mental health investment shows promising results

The Steinberg Institute for Advancing Behavioral Health Policy & Leadership today released the first comprehensive, data-driven study of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), created by Proposition 63. The evaluation, performed in partnership with the California Behavioral Health Directors Association of California (CBHDA), draws from data reported by counties to state agencies.
