Doug Bond

Doug Bond serves as the current president and CEO of Amity Foundation, an organization with a strong commitment to increasing public safety through re-entry programs after incarceration. Licensed by the California State Department of Health Care Services, Amity Foundation works to provide long-term services like stable housing, health care, and employment opportunities to break the cycle of recidivism, particularly in marginalized communities.

Doug has been involved with the Amity Foundation since 1983, when he was one of the first foster children to be reunited with his formerly incarcerated father. He uses his past lived experience to inform his organizational leadership and guide the Amity Foundation to success.

Doug’s passion and dedication to system reform doesn’t stop at the Amity Foundation though, it also extends to his work with Los Angeles County’s California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and parole initiatives, where he’s received several awards. His CDCR experience has helped him implement initiatives that provide more re-entry services throughout California’s prison system. He is currently focused on developing over 300 permanent housing units and 200 residential beds for formerly incarcerated individuals seeking employment opportunities.

Too often, people who are released from our jails find themselves struggling to find consistent employment, acquire stable housing, and access necessary health care services. Many end up back behind bars as a result. We praise and admire Doug for his efforts to stop this revolving door and transform the way we support those re-entering our California communities.
