A diverse coalition of mental health and youth advocates oppose Gov. Jerry Brown’s proposal to defund a critical effort to establish a continuum of crisis health services for children and youth.

Nearly 60 organizations from across California, including the Steinberg Institute, signed an impassioned letter, pleading with legislators to reject the governor’s proposal. The continuum of services that would be gutted by Brown’s decision includes crisis stabilization, mobile crisis support teams, residential treatment and family respite care.
